It would be great to have it as an addon, the WYSIWYG editor.
i have been searching for this hack but it seems that it was never released, or am i wrong on that.
i have seent hat there are loads of WYSIWYG java aplets availeble on the net, including free ones..
let me please know if this all is possible...

Do you mean for the boards that allow HTML so that the members can post with it? I for one will not allow HTML in posts but others might.

No, he means with UBBCODE. It would mean having javascript look in the context of the text area, finding all the [b] [b/] and making the stuff in between bold, etc.

geez! you guys keep referencing hacks that I NOW WANT to install! STOPPIT! LOL I'm trying to keep myself from hacking until at least 6.7 (production), but with all these hacks being talked about, the urge is sure to overpower me.

It's not a bad thing to hack the board, when you do the upgrade it over-writes them and you have a stock board again. Just be careful with hacks that modify the member files.

we have one somewhere that should still work as this part has not evolved for a longtime though I think it only worked on ie mozilla support has been added a few months back but it has not been implemented

Such systems submit the post ONLY as HTML. Allowing HTML on your board is a signifigant security risk... one worth not even conisdering the idea. Trust me, it's not worth the bother...
