we're an up-and-coming archive of stories and poems, and after a very rough upgrade (I lost 40,000 threads ) we finally got up on this server and I of course started hackin' away! I wanted the theme to be simple, but functional. That's why it's basically black and white, with the occasional highlight. The text is the color the author chooses, and I like that, because that's the most important part ofthe board, and should take precedence. We make it a point not to have reg dates, post counts, or any limits....you're the same wether you've been there a day or a year.
users can choose everything from their title/avatar, to their own preset font color.

Nice. Some things are really hard to read, but that could be the bad contrast on this crappy monitor... It may look better on a decent screen. I'm not sure I like the total blackness thing, bad screen or not, though. Just seems kinda weird.

I like the whole anonymity/equality theme you're goin' for. Interesting concept, pretty atypical .

Nice to see someone else playing with the templates themselves. Originality is hard to come by sometimes, it seems... Nice work!

I'm really not trying to be unique or outlandish, I just wanted it to be sleek, and functional. no need for fancy graphics, or meaningless hacks (I think hypercell is comepletely unnecessary).


it's dark because I originally had bad eyes, although I don't see how you can relate it as "total darkness", perhaps it's your monitor as you stated.

The whole Black on Black theme makes it kind of hard to read. The post reply and new post images are black with a black background, took me forever to find them. The main page is pretty sweet looking with the whole paper thing.

they look fine to me.

I am using Internet Explorer 6.0 that comes with Windows XP RC1 2505. It looks pretty black on black to me, might be my eyes though.

I'm using IE 6 on Win 98 and everything is dark. He's right, your posting buttons don't really stand out. Personally, I think you should try to match your main page.

Just my 2 cents though.

did you look at the screenshot I posted? they stand out a lot, it might be the browser though

the colors don't stand out that much from the screenshot or the link...
