OK, yeah, I know this is supposed to be Modified Forum Showcase, but oh well... I just want to show off the new se7enet.com main site, entitled se7enetbroken. I've been working on it for a couple days now, and it's probably about 90% complete. I think the only link that doesn't work is About. So don't look there. And don't look in the Forums either, cuz they are a *long* way from being done, and they look pretty "clean" right now... Unless you want to join the forums, in which case look at them all you want... A quick word of warning, though, it's big on graphics, and the preloader should take about a minute or so on 56k. Feel free to look around, make yourself comfy, etc. And the site should fit pefectly in 1024x768 resolution in everything but Opera, so you'll get scrollbars if you have anything less than 1024. Anyway, comments and stuff are appreciated. Lemme know what you think. http://www.se7enet.com/ ---Skorpion [ August 27, 2001: Message edited by: Skorpion ]

Good looking site with much nicer colors than before (I didn't dig the grays). The only thing I don't care for are the "mystery meat" links on the main page..."fallen"? "slain"? "weakened"? They give you no clue as to where you are going...

Soul: The previous version of the site launched fullscreen, but this version doesn't require it. Thanks for reminding me of that, though, cuz I need to change the text on the loader page. WDFA: Did you hover over the links for a second? They morph to the actual link title onmouseover... Everyone else: Glad you like it. ---Skropion

Yeah, great work!
However, I agree with WDFA, even though we can hover it it kinda confuses me.

that looks awsome skorp.. im going to be very unpopular and dubbed insane for saying this but... the background to me seems to maybe need a bit more color, i love the shattering glass, but was thinking it would look even better if you were to do a bit of tinting to enhance the broken look. I was thinking make some jagged triangles or rectangle or whatever and tinting them maybe a blue color with very low opacities and black borders, then have it all the shapes broken up.. i cant really explain it very well.. or another thing that would be neat would be to have reflections in the shattered glass But for sure the current look farly exceeds anything i am capable of [ August 28, 2001: Message edited by: Bookie ]

Hey Skorp, that is incredible work! I do have some questions for you about web design on such a graphic scale. I'm developing a new site myself, and I'm having problems with the java (yack) that I'm using to swap images on mouseovers. They go REALLY slow. Ideas? Or should I just break down and use flash? HeHe here is the link! HERE! Also, anyone who goes there, this is a VERY VERY rough outline of what I'm doing, so don't laugh cause it's plain, and strange looking now. I'm just working on the mouseovers and navigation for the front page right now...

V00D00: Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Um, if you're still thinking about javascript, you might try an image preloader . For just those five images, you don't really need a fancy one like I've got, but that link should be adequate... I am understanding that by "slow" you mean it just takes the rollovers a long time to load on the first time. If that's not right, sorry, I guess this is useless to ya. Heretic- thanks for the suggestion. I'll get that done shortly. (Hopefully.) ---Skorpion
