Hey kids, it's that time of the month again!
Here's the official Members Spotlight thread for posting your entries for next month's contest. Entries SHOULD be received by 2/13, and absolutely no later than 2/14, to be qualified for this month. Basically, on those two days, whenever I get around to closing the thread. So don't put it off till the last minute!
Entries are judged based on the following criteria: quality of hacks, site integration, quality of design, colors and aesthetics, and the quality of the member experience.
Entries with any of the following "qualities" will be disqualified, with or without notice to the entrant:
- pirated UBB's.
- sites that remove/hide the Infopop copyright notice.
- 5.X or 6.0 Beta UBB's. (Note that we are still allowing 6.0x Release versions)
- warez sites or porno sites.
- sites that depict harm to pandas, small children, or llamas.
But, we also reserve the right to disqualify any entry for any reason deemed fit by the judges, with or without notice to the entrant. This means sites depicting harm to llama-like creatures may or may not be disqualified.
ALSO, we're going to be introducing something new this month. As you probably don't know, it has become somewhat customary in our staff voting discussions to not only give the standard quick vote, but also give short critiques of each and every site. And as a way to help you improve your own site, I've been authorized to share these critiques with those who want them. Note that I will be carefully anonymizing them all, so you won't have any idea who said what, and that way you won't be able to hold a grudge or anything. Also note that the critiques may be rather harsh in some cases, so your feelings may be hurt a little. SOOOooo, IF you submitted your site to last month's spotlight, and IF you want a chance to see our opinions, and IF you want a chance to improve your site before this month's voting, and IF you can stomach a harsh remark or two, feel free to let me know either in this thread or by email (
[email protected] - just make sure you include the address of your site so i know which comments to get). I will email you a list of the comments your site got during last month's voting as soon as I receive notification that you want it, so you can hop right to work on fixing all the stupid stuff you did last month.
