UBBDEV Staff and Members: Welcome to the future! This is the new buzz that's circulating around every coffee shop and water cooler in the country. It is the year 2001, and we are effectively living in our future. While the real "HAL" never saw the light of day, many new advances in computer science and technology have made it possible to say that we are really "creating our own realities." This past year for UBB Developers Network has also been quite an experiment in its own right. We've just recently reached a goal I didn't think we'd see for some time: our 3000th member! As this community of ours grows and expands more and more everyday, I can't help but smile when I realize that our dreams for UBBDEV are coming true right before our eyes. Another dream that I never thought I'd see is the day that UBBDEV received as much or more traffic as some of the "big dogs" receive. For the record, UBBDEV averages around 780,000 to 850,000 page views a month! This is a big credit to the hard work and determination of a very incredible staff that I have the honor and privledge of working with. Folks, my hat's off to you this morning! So now the question begs, "What does the future hold for UBB Developers Network?" As we await the exciting release of version 6, the site (and thus our resources) will grow and modify significantly. New images and new mods will be added daily as the old ones will go through a "Spring cleaning." We can only guess how much better things will get from here on in. Also in the works is our official UBBDEV t-shirt contest where we will be asking you, our loyal members, to design the first ever UBB Developer's Network t-shirt! This is exciting in its own right as you realize that this shirt will be worn by members all over the world! At this time, we are not sure when we will officially open the contest, but stay tuned as it will most likely be sooner than later. So in closing, I want to take a step back and ask you to join me in giving a well-deserved praise to the unbelievable staff that I work with! Folks, if it wasn't for each and every one of them, this site would not be what it is today! The future, as it has been said, is what you make of it. Today, let's make it ours! ...none of which would have been possible, were it not for the continuing support of our three administrators here. Although others also deserve praise and glory for their contributions and achievements, I'd like to take this moment to raise my glass to AllenAyres, Deb and Digital Boy, who have done far, far more for this site since its humble beginnings, and who deserve this moment of singular recognition.
I toast to you all. Happy 2001!

Borg -
Thank you so much for your praise, but it really is (and thus should be considered) a group effort. In my mind, I can think of individual contributions that each and every one of you have made that really was such a needed effort.
I'm so glad that we not only have this awesome website, but that we actually have a community here ... a place where people come on a daily basis to meet up with friends, some of whom they've never met (physically,) not just to discuss code issues.
That was the most important quality to: the fact that UBBDEV MUST BE AND MUST REMAIN a vibrant, warm and accepting community of developers!
Thank you all!

Hy DigitalBoy, Congratulation from Germany. Just want to assent what you said about "community" and stuff. I'm sure everybody possesses his individual websites to visit every day. But you have only one "home". I think there a many guys which define ubbdev at their "home", me included. just wanna say thank you BTW, DigitalBoy, you do not really wanna know what a warm community is in Germany muc

Thank you for that head's up about the "warm" thing. I'll keep that in mind if I should ever venture across the Atlantic.

Congrats to all the mods and Admins that make this place so valuable to all of us UBB owners.
I look forward to the continued growth of this site as we all expand our UBB scripts to 6.0 and beyond.
Thanks for all the hard work and a great site.

Parker,
It's members like you that make what we do here so valuable and so rewarding. Many times we don't even get a thank you. So when we do happen to get such a show of praise from members like yourself, it means the world to us. Thanks for helping make this community what it is today!

"Getting into PHP"? It's just a different programming language you can use scripts written in. You already use an ASP script, and I assume you have PHP on the server, so it'd just be a matter of deciding if you wanted to use a script written in the language. ------------------

Just wanted to Thank the Admins, Moderators, Developers and guys who provide help to novices like me. The great thing about this site is when someone contributes here it gets contributed to thousands of sites on the net . Though I have stopped installing hacks (till UBB6 release) but I still come here everyday just to see whats new in UBB world. If only my Employer knew how much time I spend here during the day, I would be looking for another job right now rather then typing this message .
