Looking for critiques of my boards. Any
improvements I could make ? I was thinking of using a gray background image of some sort or maybe adding a 3d look to it similar to the networkin boards.

I don't like the animated icons.
Your statistics icon is too small, possibly try the other included in the zip.
You should relocate the statistics and calendar to be included with your forums, all of them scattered makes the board look odd, perhaps it's just my eyes as well...
Your cosmetic images at the top are kind of bulky, but then again it could just be this small monitor.
I enjoy the colors, they have a nice contrast, very good on the color management there.
Other than that it looks quite good, good topics, nice layout, good use of modifications .

Well, how UGN Security has it is that it integrates it into the whole listing of forums. I believe that there is a post of this in the design and integration forum as "calendar re-location", heck, even LK said he liked it ...
