You don't suck Sally. Digital art isn't the easiest medium. It takes alot of time and just plain screwing around with the editor that you use. Keep at it. It can be one of the coolest skills to have.

Frist off, I use Photoshop 5.5. I start with the image in .psd form. I type out each letter seperately. Making each on a seperate layer. Don't worry that they're not curving yet. Add your effect if you wish. Now to rotate the letters select the Rotate tool. Edit> Transform> Rotate. Move each letter intil it's how you want it. Now use the Move tool to respace the letters. Viola!

If you have Photoshop 6, it already includes a Bend Text tool to make it easy. But if you have 5.5 still, you have to use Stilgar's way.
