Ok,, first I would like to say that I'm not bashing the efforts of infopop, they are doing a fine job IMO but.... When will they rest on the upgrades? I mean i just went from 5.47 to 6.0gold and now 6.01 is out,,grrrrr,,not the community is split for version to version once again making it difficult to share the hacks,,you have the old,,"What version do you have?",,"Well i have this",,"but i don't have that line stuff"., Just makes me madd is all  Thankyou for listening to my jiberish

I appreciate your concerns, but the question I have to ask you is this, what would you rather have, varied releases of new versions, or something with bugs, problems, and other stuff like that? Everyone should be on the latest version, and I believe that is how the modifications are being written, as though you had the most recent version. Sure, it's a pain to update, but I'd far rather update and fix problems, than know that the company was more concerned with having a single release, than with security or other issues... I'd rather experience infopop's way of working than Microsofts......
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread..

Ya,,i agree 100% with the varied modification releases, but this last upgrade has just killed me. I waited until they got out of beta,,but I guess i didn't wait long enough I know that you should always be up with the latest version but not everyone has the time to keep doing this. For me, it's just for fun, it's not my job, and it's hard for me to find the time to do this. So when I do i want it to go smooth as possible. Ag,,I'm just venting

Keep in mind too, the mod community is a tiny percentage of their user base. For most of their customers, and upgrade is as simple as downloading the zip, uploading a few files, and being done with it. And as said, is much better to release fixes as soon as they're done. 6 went through extensive beta testing, yet things still show up. That;s the nature of software. At least they get patches out as soon as a problem is discovered. That is A Good Thing

True, if you have modified your files and trust yourself to be really thorough in checking them over, use Beyond Compare to go through the changed files and upgrade them. I did this here for every upgrade from 5.45c through 5.47d. You get good after a while and can upgrade in a matter of minutes. Navaho has said they plan to release "upgrade zips" too, that only contain the changed files from previous releases, so tat should help as well. I look forward to every release, it means bugs have been fixed and/ or features added into the base code.

hmm,,the link doesn't work for me Yes,,i udes to look forwar to the releases myself, but latley it seems to take to long to run a thorough scan. I definatly like the bug fixes,,that's always a plus. I just don't have the time to dedicated to learning 100% of the code changes and perl paths.

As of 6.01 we have been releasing .zips with just the changed files. Less to scan through.
Picture perfect penmanship here.
