Just checking if ubb have co-brainding feature?

I would be nice if I can share my current forum with other tech sites won't you think?

You can make them a forum to use in a "hosted forums" category, if that's what you mean... but i don't think it is.

What I mean is having my current forum with existing data and members shared by other related sites but with their look and feel. Just image how fast our forum would grow with multiple sites joining effort.

We all know that UBB6 have the Styles Template, if we could use that to customize to their look and feel that would be awesome.

Sure, it would need to be on the same server... or you could host categories/ or forums for them and they could use a frame on their site to make it look seamless.

To certify, not Allen:

But... you can do that, right now. Make a new style template and customize it to your heart's content, then link it to a new forum. Right?...

Having frame would work but they still have my header and footer in the frame which won't be very pleasing to their members, after all it's suppose to be their look and feel not together with mine.

But under the forum setting it only allow 1 style template per forum. If I want to use 2 style template for 1 forum there isn't any option for this function.

Why not someone do a hack on this one?

You could make the 'owner' of the branded forum a mod. This will give them access to the forum settings.
You (at this point) would have to create a style they could use and assign it to that forum.

Catches that come to mind are:
When they register, they will be sent to the forum summary page. This may not be too hard to fix. possibly by setting and additional cookie paramater based on where the register option is selected (IE, which forum they are in) and add some code to pass that value into the the title image and so on.. (url variable forced to a value in cookie) Also additional options in ultimatebb.cgi to get the 'from' address and direct them to the right forum.

Templates would make this 'fairly' easy but a major overhaul anyway.

Would be a good bit of work but it is definatly attainable. I bet 80% of the coding would be done to the templates.

http://www.novogate.com does this

they offer a free UBB forum(not a whole board, but just one forum) to a site, and the mod of that board, can change the styles, headers and footers. cool

I just want to add that the only thing your co-hosted colleagues won't be able to change is the actual template .pl files. If you've made any changes to them, they will show up throughout. But for everything else, they can have their own header and footer and colors, etc.
