I am thinking of loading some .ra file to my site for users and haven't played with .ra conversion before. Have created the .ra and .ram files and everything is working but when I convert a 4MB mp3 to ra it is coming out to be like 7MB .ra file.
Two questions??
Any tips/tools or tricks to make the .ra file size smaller?
Any free web site where I can load these big .ra files. If they don't allow link from outside that will work, willing to use frames to use a outside page.

Thanx in Advance.

Ya, use less quality in compression. That is the one and only way. Sorry.

Check the bottom of this page for some free tools http://www.realnetworks.com/products/

Like Charles said, that is the only way. If you are using that jukebox crap they offer it probably will not do much for file size.
That was their response to mp3s  and generally not meant for streaming.

check the link I posted and get real producer. As far as free servers that will host them (and let them http stream) I would guess that tripod and geocities would be bad choices. You might try hypermart.net, prohosting.com or some other sites like that.

Thanks guys for your suggestions, I will give these hosts a try.
I am already using Real Producer to convert the files so I guess I will play with the quality to see what we can live with smile.
