Since I have to be approved over at the Infopop board.. I figured I'd post the question here first For a long time I've been experiancing 500 "Internal Server Errors" on my Board at random. When I'd post, reply, check Who's Online, etc. It could happen whenever I accessed a CGI file. First I thought it was the UBB install, so I reinstalled, and on a fresh install it STILL happened. Really at random though, no sure-fire way to tell WHEN it would happen. Anyway, I ran Netcraft on my host and it came up with: FreeBSD Apache/1.3.14 which is below the 1.3.3 that David hinted at. I'm going to upgrade to 6.04a I suppose, but I was wondering if anyone knew if this will fix my problem or if the problem lies elsewhere (my host? my internet connection? etc) Thank you muchly for you time. -- Paul

Yeah, but you're still using 5.47d right now, right?

Yeah 5.47d until some of the other hacks come out of beta (who's online, PM mods etc) but I would upgrade straight to 6.04a if it fixed the 500 errors. They are really inconvienent, usually only causing double-posts, but sometimes the user account is deleted or the thread disapears. Very odd.
So I was wondering if this was part of the fix? Or if my problems lie elsewhere?

Hahaha. I'm sorry. I'm tired. For some reason I read: 1.3.1.4 Sigh. [edit:] Regarding the 500 errors though, does anyone know how to fix them, or even what causes them?[/edit]

6.04a is supposed to fix those... you can file compare the fixes in if you already have modifications added.

CC, I always thought 1.3.3 was the the same as 1.3.30 which would be higher than 1.3.14, right?

ouch, his reply is gonna hurt... 1.3.3 is not the same as 1.3.30, you are thinking of 1.3.3.0, which would be the same as 1.3.3

Damn Dewey and his Damn Decimal System. I still think the library should have been organized by book cover colour.. but NO, no one would listen to me.. sigh. As for 1.3.3 vs 1.3.14, Apache should have made it 1.3.03, since they went into double digits for the version, but then again who would have known then? I apologize for being stupid. And if 6.04a fixes those pesty internal server (500) errors, it'd be worth the upgrade Thanks.

1.3.3 is the same as 1.3.30, same as 1.2 is the same as 1.20.....what the difference between 1.3.3.0 and 1.3.30? Both equal 1.3.3....I always hated math....
