With UBB 6.1 being released shortly, is it worth me starting a new board with 6.04e? I just wanna know if I should wait for UBB6.1's release before I start hacking the crap out of it Any ideas on a releas date?

Up to you, but I'll rather wait until all the cool hacks are out of beta first.

I myself am about to restart Se7enet with a new version of a hacked up 6.04e. I figure, 6.10 will prolly still have several bugs in it... I'll wait till a little farther down the line before I jump in the 6.1X boat. Until then, anything 6.1 has that I absolutely need, can most likely be hacked in some way or another.

6.1 may have a few bugs found when it is released, but in general what the beta-testers have found is very minor. The underlying base code is a refinement of 6.0x with a good number of requested features added. If anything, unless something unusual pops up, 6.1 would be a better choice over 6.0x - better coding + less modifications to add in. I am looking forward to it being released here for sure.

As CC and Nav would say "when it's done"..:) Having said that, they decided to work on performance measures more than first anticipated, which is good for us, but it'll take a little longer before they release it, which is only slightly bad. I can't give hard numbers since I don't know, but most likely less than 2 weeks.

That is an unofficial guestimate, BTW. We have no set release date yet.

Personally I rather them release it as late as they reasonably can. That way they can fix more I/O problems and other things they are doing with 6.1.

Man, I saw this in the latest reply for the chit chat forum and I was like it's out! But then when the page loaded I noticed it was just about starting a new board before it.

We STILL haven't set a release date, so stop assuming it's like, going to be tomorrow or something...

Hey charles, do you think that some hacks still might work in 6.1 such as who's online 4.0?
