AOL is for people who have trouble figuring out how to turn on the computer in the first place...other than that I hear it's quite popular for many parents trying to figure out what this "net thing" there kids keep talking about -Tacks [ July 25, 2001 02:31 PM: Message edited by: tackaberry ]

I have AOL just because it is the best thing I can find in my area. No DSL, no Cable, no nothing.

AOL can't be the best thing in the area. There's gotta be SOME other ISP around.

The only other thing is NetZero. But it freezes after 10 minutes. I downloaded over and over. They said they don't know what the problem is.

Nope, AOL is most definitely not God. It's not good either. BTW, if you pay the $9.99 for NetZero, it really isn't that bad... (Not good either, but it's not the worst...) That's what I do. Though not by choice! It's either pay a grand total of $29.97 for the entire summer, or sign a yearly contract with one of the other major ISP's, or pay $10/month plus a $40 setup fee with any of the various small-time ISP's around Houston... I really did try not to go with NetZero, but I didn't want a year contract or paying $70 for three months!! (I'll make it up to the great Net Gods once I get to college and get my T3, though... Beat that!! :p) ---Skorpion
Don't put that signature in your mouth! You don't know where it's been!
