IkonBoard vesion 3 ?

Anyone seen their new version?

It basically looks and operates just like VB, but uses a flat file database like UBB.

Ikonboard is by far the worst IMO.

I never cared for it either until I saw version 3 (still in Beta). It's quite impressive IMO.

its made some progress, but far behind in its UI...

But it's internals are great.

* OOP - modularity
* mod_perl (and I mean real mod_perl)
* ? : usage for speed optimization (shortcut if else construction)
* on the fly command construction (an advanced example (way advanced) version of my dynamic open file handles in Moderator Activity Logging)

However, it's auto-install is somewhat flawed. Files created by the auto-install in UNIX on some webservers are created under the nobody person causing chmod via FTP troubles. Furthermore, on Windows, it requires the DB_File PPM to be installed.

I've seen it and it's pretty good. It has some ideas that don't appear on other forums which is good.

This topic seems a little outta place to me... I mean this IS a UBB board, so obviously people are going to like the UBB better than anything else.

Just a thought though.

So, that's all anyone wants to talk about here is UBB?

I don't see the problem discussing other scripts. :rolleyes:
