Let me be the first to say how much I dislike open topic compared to UBB. I hope the work is not done over there on the new forums. They need to be better sorted and arranged.

Didn't think it was but wasn't sure. I just noticed they're on PST too. This WILL take some getting used to. [ 10-15-2001: Message edited by: Steve_M ]

2 guesses: 1. infopop did this to save resources or 2. OpenTopic sucks and i'm sure OT sales are low so infopop is tryin to get people to think it's all good and stuff.. kidding of course

Why buy OpenTopic when you can get a ubb and mod it up for a lot less of the price.

Because UBB can't do millions of pageviews a day. Some of the OTs are just MASSIVE. Take ArsTechnica for example... [ 10-16-2001: Message edited by: Charles Capps ]

Pardon me for being slow, but what exactly are we talking about? I know about UBB and OpenTopic but you seem to be announcing the death of something.

can't believe they did that myself, found a bug i needed to post when deleting the newest registered member it dont delete the member.cgi file just the data inside..
then creates a error when executing the main ultimatebb.cgi with corrupt member file.

The death of the UBBâ„¢ support forum at IP. All of IP's forums have been consolidated in a single community, which is running on OpenTopic. Some also refer to the UBBâ„¢ support forum as Scriptkeeper, which is what it was called even before that... that reminds me..I might as well update my bookmarks now. -Tacks

Yeah It does too. I don't really like OpenTopic too and I would prefer UBB any day.

Univision does over a million page views a day, has hundreds and hundreds of forums and god only knows how many thousands of registered users. I don't even want to guess how many posts per day or how many are stored in the database. They have never pruned. They have the exact stats but I've not looked at them in months. Not too many UBBs will do that.
That said I will miss ole' SK. Which is not to say that the future on the combined forums will be bad - but growing up can be tough.
XPerT SK is the old UBBForums, formerly located at scriptkeeper.com (hence the name). It's where most of us came from, met, and got interested in the UBB. Rumor also has it that Charles Capps was born there but I know better. He was there first. Ted just built the board around him. I think he had something like 537 posts within ten minutes of the board's first appearance.

Go over there while logged in and click a PopIt! button... You'll like it. That is one of the handful of features that I *REALLY* want to steal from OT and put in UBB, but that can never be done to that extent....

hehe cool i like i really like anyway, y not make a verson of ot people can rn on there own servers like ubb? i can understand to some extent but infopop charges way to much for OT, i know its for bigger companys and stuff but id really like to see hacks made for it. Thats one reason i went with ubb, the suport over here at dev. if it wasent for dev id be on a *sivers* vB. but the hacks for ubb over here look and work much better ( at least i think) then the installed and added hacks to vB
