God will forgive all sins, except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. And that's the truth. quote: Matthew 12:31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
And so in response to your question, yes, God would forgive Bin Laden if he confessed his sins, repented, etc.

I mean I know God will, but Bin Laden broke the same commandent over 5,000 times in about a week. Someone brought it to my attention and it just got me thinking.

And still, isn't it amazing that God will still forgive him and accept him? All Bin Laden has to do is accept God's free gift.

We all get the same chance, and even people who do good works but don't accept Christ will still go to hell, along with Bin Laden if he doesn't. So it goes to show that you can win all the awards and earn all the money that the world has to offer, but still burn in hell for all of eternity if you're not a Christian.

I don't think he would, he did too much damage to be forgiven.

So you're saying if someone is Muslim/Jewish/atheist/whatever, he'll die in hell no matter if he'll be good or bad?

Discussing religion in a forum like this is almost always bound to pinch a few toes, if it's done right Asked of a Jew, God is more vengeful, less grace, bin Laden will die 5,000 deaths after his life is over. Asked of a Muslim, God will probably forgive him, seeing as bin Laden says he was doing it in His name, but most likely He'll say that bin Laden is more than a bit mis-guided in his beliefs and must suffer the consequences. Asked of an Athiest, who cares? bin Laden should die 5,000 deaths before his life is over here, by then it's too late for him to pay...

Funny... if all the world's religions are true, we're all doomed to burn in hell, or a variant thereof...
I doubt that bin Laden will suffer a fate any less ... serious.

hmm well I'm a bit agnostic on the whole god thing...probably leaning more towards the atheist side. but, God's supposed to be omnibenevolent, omniscient and omnipotent, so I guess he would be forgiven (logically...) mind you, that just brings up the entire how can there be a God like that if evil is present in the world thingie. I'd probably believe Bin Laden would go to hell or something though, (hell ?= being without heaven? *shrug*) hmm, well there's a little sit-on-the-fence rant from a very tired little girl for you there

Well, basically, until Jesus comes back to set up his kingdom on earth, Satan has more or less full control over things. Also, God has a plan that none of us know right now, and so, how could we possibly question God if he knows all?

The reason no one directly commented on that statement was the fact that most visitors here at UBBDev are smart enough to know that you are going to believe whatever you want, no matter what. And so are they. No need to argue about it, we'll all find out in the end anyway. I really like religious discussions actually, not being religious myself it makes it interesting. However since this board isn't the place for it, I choose to keep whatever comments I may think, to myself no matter how much I might disagree with you.

I didn't intend for this to be an argument, I just wanted to share some answers to the original post. But I'd hate for you to have to find out in the end, because it is written in Romans 2:8 that "for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger." I don't think I need to explain what that verse means.

Same here Charles. If you gotta threaten me to get me to do what you want... do I REALLY wanna do it? Not I. Bottom line is, if I goto Hell... so be it. At least I'll be able to say I thought for myself and fought for myself. I tried to be the best, strongest, free willed person I could be. If that isn't good enough for "God", I'll get over it. So can he.

It's not threatening, and it's not what I want. It's what God wants, and I'm only trying to spread His will to prevent you from going to Hell.
quote: At least I'll be able to say I thought for myself and fought for myself. I tried to be the best, strongest, free willed person I could be.
I think you just have too much pride to admit that you're not yet satisfied in life. Becoming a Christian doesn't make you sacrifice freedom at all. You'll have more freedom than you've ever had before!
quote: If that isn't good enough for "God", I'll get over it. So can he.
No, that certainly isn't enough for God. In fact, we're all sinners and we all fall short of the glory of God. The only way to be reconciled with God and to get to Heaven is through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Also, let me ask you this. Do you celebrate Christmas? If so, you do realize the true meaning of the day, don't you? It's not about giving presents or being with family. Those things are all nice, but the true meaning is that of Jesus' birth, more than 2000 years ago in a stable.
And furthermore, how do you think man came to be on this very planet? Certainly you don't believe one man (Darwin) as opposed to hundreds of archaeologists! Time and time again, history has proven the Bible to true, and more amazingly, Jesus' miracles have been recorded by people who lived at the same time as him but weren't even followers.
If you haven't read a good book lately, read the Bible. Start with John, and then go to Romans. Or, if you're not into doing that just yet, read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. It's about a journalist searching for the truth, and he interviews something like 13 different people. And remember, the truth is only made known to those who are searching for it.

Oh, and let me remind you that burning in Hell for eternity isn't as glorious as it sounds. We'll live our lives here for what, 70, 80, 90 years? And eternity is how long, exactly? ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/mjacob/images/eternity-def.gif) Now picture a lake. Then picture fire. Good. Now picture a lake made out of fire with you inside it. You can feel everything, but you can't get out of the lake, and you'll never be put out of your misery. And that is what Hell will be like. Christmas and most of the traditions are derived from pagan winter celebrations... The day was later redefined by the early Christians to help ease the conversions of the pagans. And thus, my last statement on the topic as to prevent potential nasties.

Matt, When I say "you" in my last message I was referring to whatever definition of "God" someone might be talking about. Not you personally. quote: I think you just have too much pride to admit that you're not yet satisfied in life. Becoming a Christian doesn't make you sacrifice freedom at all. You'll have more freedom than you've ever had before!
Hardly.
quote: And remember, the truth is only made known to those who are searching for it.
Put me in a sensory deprivation chamber, I'll start see'n beautiful gardens, flying monkeys and my dead uncle... Doesn't mean it's real. If you search long enough and try hard enough you can believe anything. Doesn't make it true. Yes, you can use this exact argument against me. The difference is, I understand and agree with it.

However, if you don't do as you are told, he will send you to the firey depths of Hell for eternity. You will suffer every second of every instance, forever. All of your nightmares will come true, every injustice will be performed upon the charred husk of your body.
Talk about tough love! And parents nowadays have to watch out if they SPANK their children. heh

Allen, If someone says to me "God bless you". I don't take it bad. They mean me well. =) When someone calls me a "sinner" it is like calling me any other derogitory word. They mean it in a bad way. My sister in law is a very devout Christian. I love her to death. We completely disagree on this subject but we love each other anyway. She says I am going to Hell, I say she is nuts. And guess what? On Christmas day I'll be at my brothers house celebrating. They for their reasons, and me for mine. We don't have to blow up each others house because of our personal beliefs. You can call my feelings apathetic, however I think of them as well thought out, for myself. Non-spoonfed from birth but having had real thought given to them from a non-biased viewpoint. Somewhat biased now maybe, but only after the fact. The bible in my opinion is a great book of moral values and the like. It should be followed in that respect. Only. I've learned a long time ago not to get upset when someone disagrees with me, so you don't have to worry about my getting upset or whatnot. I wouldn't have replied to this thread if I would. heh I know that neither you nor Matt means harm, but what you don't understand is that not everyone has the same hole to fill in their lives that you both have. I mean, more power to ya guys and I hope you live happy eventful lives. But when someone else is living a happy eventful life WITHOUT God in their life, accept that it works for them and leave well enough alone.

dude, wasn't sayin you were apathetic, was sayin that my postin wasn't apathetic. heheh... Please don't get defensive, I am not tryin to push anything on anybody. Your beliefs are your business. I wasn't tryin to convert you, I was tryin to answer the original question and someone keeps jumping in with, "don't give me that Jesus crap".
