What's the fastest you've ever set up a ubb? When I had 5.45, I did it all the time (stupid unreliable hosts)... I think mine was probably 5 minutes, not with 6.03 though, only done it once with this version, having the paid host and all.

If it's on a Win2K server with proper permissions on the folders already, it takes a few minutes to set a 6+ version up... that's a very basic install tho... getting the content right can take years....

It depends on your connection really. Fast connection would be faster because they can upload the file quicker then someone on dial-up. Fastest time for me on a 6+ would be 10 minutes.

3 minutes for a UBB 5 on one of our dev servers.

I had it scripted. Whenever I added a user the script installed the UBB for me, I just had to edit cplinks.

Picture perfect penmanship here.

< 1 minute.

On a local machine, at least. Unzip, move the files, visit cpanel, submit, register.

Tada.

Yeah, pretty much. That's about the way my localhost test board setups work. Installing on the live server depends on upload speed, but I had DSL so it wasn't very long, probably about 5-6 minutes.

2-3 minutes, including basic registration, depending on the business of the server and the condition of my DSL...

For a UBB6, I can do it in about 2 minutes if the persons server is moving at a good pace...

UBB5.x takes a bit longer because of that dreadful hand editing of files

Of course, I do this for a living so its old hat... we should hire some of you guys to do installs. Some of you are speedy!
