No, not that kind...

I remember back in June or July when I started my first site that I saw somewhere that a site was being told to remove UBB associated graphics I believe because they didn't have permission to use the Trademarked name.

I know that UBBDesign is allowed to offer Template hacks and designs, and obviously UBBDev is allowed to offer .cgi as well. What are the rules regulating sites that want to advertise that they have hacks/graphics etc. for UBB. Would I be allowed to provide a database for these kinds of items if I had the authors permission?

I only ask this because I'm building an outlined structure for the design of netwerkin.org and I want to be sure that I don't violate any licensing agreements of UBB "rules".

Well if you had access to the private forums over at UBBDesign, it pretty much has covered all the rules about hack databases and hack distruibuting.

UBBDev, Design, and the Top 100 site are THE only sites allowed to use the Infopop trademarks as they do.

UBBDev is the only site approved to distribute script hacks, UBBDesign is the only site approved for template and graphics (UBBDev does because they are grandfathered).

Threadsdev is the only approved UBBThreads code hacking site. UBBTdesign is the only approved design and templates site.

I think it is your application sitting on my desk, is it not? Someone sent me one yesterday and is under consideration. I'll get a chance to look at it Monday.

To be considered you need to have been a Member of our community for long enough to display that you will be around a while. You'll need to display that you have the ability to support your site and users . There are other considerations but they are on my desk and I'm too exhausted to remember them.

Basically you'll need to demonstrate that what you are doing is different then what the aforementioned sites are doing and why, and that you can do as good a job as Allen, Deb, JC and all of their support staff are doing.

This is not easy. These folks can tell you it is a full time job for them.

I get a dozen requests a month but as you can see not many are approved.

UBBDesign != Infopop

He can be, Will he be? I doubt it. I'll be in contact with him on Monday and we will see if we can reach an accord. I'm sure we can work something out.

UBBDirectory is doing the same thing, worse, than ubb-top 100. I say shut him down and get done with it nav.

Ofcourse, it is very hard to do what the support staff here does, let alone the administration's job.

The staff here does an amazing job. I haven't applied for anything...I was just looking at my options.

I am kinda glad you brought this out xpert because it needed to be covered. People have to realize if you want code hacks, come here and only here. UBBDesign for premade templates...and whatever else they do. (I forget)

I have to say that if you mention "UBB hacks" to anyone, they'll immediately think of UBBDev...that's how great and helpful this place is to us UBBers.

But today, for the first time, I fully explored UBBDesign..and oh my, there was some great stuff that'll be really useful to me in the future.

Usually whats talked about in a private forum stays private...

Only your own hacks that you wrote yourself. You wrote them, of course you can But good question though.

Actually, Navaho, I didn't write them, those are the hacks that are installed on my board. I'll take them off my site pronto.
