UBB.Developers Forums General Discussion Chit Chat SOCKS5 Proxy??

My (stupid stupid) school has done the wonderfully intelligent thing of blocking the ports for, like, every known P2P filesharing program out there. WinMX used to work, but apparently they found that port over xmas break too, so now it's blocked as well.

And my guess is, to get around this, I'll need a proxy server. That should do the trick, at least I hope. But I don't happen to know any SOCKS5 proxy servers offhand. So, like, does anyone know the address to a working SOCKS5 server by any chance? Cuz that would just be all kinds of cool.

Well, the problem with that one is, I'm already behind a firewall, so it would not be able to have acccess to any more than what I've got already. I'm just needing the address or IP to a proxy server that's already been set up that's outside my school's network.

I might be wrong, but I don't think that people just leave up public proxy servers. You've got to get a friend outside of your school's network to set up one for you to use.
