This is the perfect tool for all UBB users -
EmotiPad v1.0
[Linked Image]

Problem

When using one of the hundreds of Bulletin Boards around the net, most of them provide Smilies, also commonly know as Emoticons, for you to insert into posts. These emoticons let you express your feelings in an easy way.

The main problem is most forums just don't supply you with enough choice, forcing you to copy and paste Image URLs from other sites around the internet. This also lets you add a little individuality to your post.

EmotiPad - The Solution

EmotiPad simplifies the whole process of using emoticons by cataloguing them in your own personal library, and has functions to insert them directly into web browser windows (or in fact any text entry field you wish).

Yes, I just need some smilies now BTW, I think you should need to add 'hide to tray'/'minimize' options.

I agree with Greg (I think he's the one who said this), that I'm not going to pay for a program when I can simply do or [ img ]image.gif[ /img ] ... Sorry, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Blogger... for many peeps its a real pain having to type the whole url in! On top of that each time you have to right click, copy and paste the properties url and then post... this takes care of with one click!

Its hardly Microsoft prices is it... at £3.50 for $5 its affordable for even kids on pocket money! [DEMO]http://www.ninjamicros.com/soulgirl/images/smilies/band.gif[/DEMO]

CopyCat... you make your own library... you can back it up under the Options button. Any new versions (if you purchase full version) are mailed to you for free for life, and dont delete your current library.. so you keep adding, deleting or whatever

There will be a new version very shortly that logs you automatically into forums too! Im just testing it now as we speak[DEMO]http://www.ninjamicros.com/soulgirl/images/smilies/boldyellow.gif[/DEMO]

I'm with Greg and Bloggerman...

I wouldn't pay when I can just as easily use the IMG tag and type it out...I type 100+ wpm, sure, but even if I typed 5 wpm and this program cost 3 cents, I still wouldn't buy it. It's simply unnecessary.

Yeah, I'm not saying that it's expensive (I could very easily afford 5 bucks), but I don't have a credit card, I don't want to have to deal with PayPal, and if I asked to use my dad's credit card, he's definitely agree with me, it's completely unneccesary.

The program looks pretty cool, but I'd rather just type out the code, it takes me all of 5 seconds to do that.

You could say a lot of software we have is unnecessary but to some people its very useful.

I also touchtype at 100wpm but still prefer to click my way around most of the time.

Thank for your input guys - much appreciated. [Linked Image]

I think it would be better to encourage the forum owners to install more graemlins instead, if it takes off I'll be rotating the names of my graemlins so as not to have my costly bandwidth stolen! either that or I'll be looking into blocking the use of my images on other sites.

Most of the smilies people would put in the library would be funky ones that would normally be hosted by "smilie" sites, that encourage their use... [Linked Image]

Wando makes another point...a lot of those smilie sites will give you images to upload to your own server and use them from there, whereas many sites don't want you constantly using their bandwidth to get their images. Adding more graemlins to the board is a better solution, you can just click them on UBB

You can just click them on most message boards... the point Im trying to make is that this gives you scope for a little individuality - thats all [Linked Image]
