I have a pretty basic ubb running. I need a really experienced ubb "hacker" to make some serious modifications. These modifications will include the ubb to support newsgroups and a mailing list. Basically, everytime a new message is created, it will be emailed out to people that have requested to be on the mailing list (little more advanced than that, but that's the basic jist). also, the messages will be available via a newsgroup reader type application. so the users will be able to post/read messages via their newsgroup client. If this is something you'd be interested in doing for me, please email me with the following info: UBB Experience est. time to complete project compensation you'd like I can be reached at: bellis@optsys.netthanks -Brad

Heh well I think he should let an American or somebody from the same country do it, Too confusing with using Auzzie money and American or wherever he's from.

I guess your right there.. How many hacks do you want installed? There's always the trusty bank to change the cuurency. But if you want an American to do it, thats fine.

 @ LD.
He has never said he wants an American to do it, and you can't say 'pay USD for Americans, GBP for British people, AUD for Australian people, etc'. Just exchange in your closest bank.

ironbard,
A suggestion. I suggest your write up a COMPLETE description of what you'll like done. That way, people can give you an accurate estimate of the time required as well as the cost.

Excellent advice Q. I was just trying to teach our young businessmen here when to ask for that. You beat me to it.

Maybe he doesn't want to learn, or doesn't have the time?

he's not asking for someone to install already made modifications to it, he's asking someone to make him a new modification to help him with the mailing list problem he is having. he probably doesn't have time to learn a programming language just to make a couple mods of his own.

I agree with dende. People that don't need it for their living/enjoyment usually don't have the time to learn new programming languages/commands.

the hack needed is already written, well sort of, here's how I would do it(of course this does depend on the size of the mailing list!) assuming you can create email forwarders on your server, create a forwarder for everyone in the group then create a mailing list(again assuming your server gives you nice site management tools) then just install the already made and easy to install hack 'Email Notification on reply' and use it! Well that's how I'd do it as a non programmer, or should I shut up
Audi-Sport.net the only forum guaranteed to kill any server!
