Spin Magazine has recently done their opinionated article on what bands they feel are the 50 greatest of all time. You can read the entire article if you want, but here's their top 10. 1. The Beatles 2. Ramones 3. Led Zeppelin 4. Bob Marley & The Wailers 5. Nirvana 6. Parliament/Funkadelic 7. The Clash 8. Public Enemy 9. The Rolling Stones 10. Beastie Boys Out of just the top 10, let's take a vote on what band is the greatest of all time.

I'm gonna have to go with the Ramones on that one.

Just looking over the list... where's Pearl Jam? They WOULD be IMO the greatest band of all time, but the Ramones are just as good.

I was a little surprised that Radiohead wasn't higher than 15, but 15 isn't terrible, either. But what's up with Public Enemy at number 8 for the greatest bands of all time list? Makes me wonder about the validity of the rest of the list.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. I haven't even heard of some of those bands.

True, but this is the greatest band voting, not most influential. I went with Led Zeppelin.

The top 50 won't load for me... it only loads to #15
EDIT: And I'm surprised Aerosmith isn't in the top 15.

Well, according to the site, you've got to buy the actual print version of the magazine to see 26-50, but the entire list up to 25 is working for me.

Even though I am not a fan of this era of music, I vote Rolling Stones.

Sublime better be on the top 50 somewhere or somebody seriously messed up.
Perl Jam is not the greatest rock band of all time.
They have some good songs but the material that they have come out with latley.. well sucks.

I haven't listened to much of their new stuff, but what I've heard isn't as good, but I still like it. The reason I like them so much is the live concerts I've been to, I've got to say you've got to experience it to believe it. They put on a better performance than any other band I've been to live.

Beatles. The Ramones are great, and definitely deserve 2nd place, but I think the Beatles did way more for music as a whole, where the Ramones were just punk.
