It looks like there's a lot of great new features, but I couldn't possibly list them all here. Read for yourself on what continues to be the best professional image-editing program ever!

Yes, I've been tracking the progress on Photoshop 7 for a while now. The new features look great. I saw a demo of the highly customizable brushes on The Screen Savers, looks great. Unfortunately, I doubt I will be getting it. Must save up for Flash MX.

From what I've heard and read, MX is a revolutionary new product. That must be why Macromedia feels they can stick it to ya on the upgrade price.

I ran the Beta, but it's features were beyond my limited skill set. one of our GFX artist was an official tester and she just plain tears it up. It looks great but i may stick with 6.0 since I'm finally learning it's functions.

They both are really sweet programs, loads of new features. In photoshop 7 there is a new thing called the bandaid and it is suppost to patch up pics or something. In Flash MX there is more tutorials, a better timeline and a couple of other new things. I can not wait until they come out.

Flash MX hits the shelves today, you can also download the 30 day trial. Im trying to register for the trial, but their site must be going through an awful lot of traffic. They now display this message: quote: Due to an overwhelming demand for Macromedia Flash MX, we are currently experiencing delays at our store. Please return later or call the Macromedia Order Center at 800-457-1774 or (425) 222-3201.

The prices for Photoshop 7.0 will be similar to what they have been for the past few releases -- around $599 for the full version and $169 for the upgrade. Adobe currently has the 7.0 upgrade available for pre-order for $149.

Very nice. How are the new features? Are they features that are useful or are they just there to make Photoshop more flashy?

The only "big" new features that are useful to me are the File Browser and the Healing Brush. I am indifferent towards the "new painting engine," but only because I don't currently own a tablet. Of course, there's a lot of new features that are quite useful, but just aren't as noticeable as the aforementioned three. I've taken a few quick screen captures just to give you an idea of what the new Photoshop looks like. Click the small images to see a fullsize version. The general layout. Notice the new icons. A new logo screen, neat. The new Healing Brush in action. The File Browser in my wallpapers folder. ![[Linked Image]](http://matt.h-realms.com/screens/ps7/snap04-s.jpg)

You have not experienced perfection with Photoshop until you have used it with a tablet.

True dat, I just got PS7 and I'm having a blast with the new brushes. I dusted off my tablet for the first time in about 6 months...

I wish I had a tablet... I wish I had Photoshop 7... I wish I could experience perfection... I'm glad the new icons transferred over to windows. I was afraid that was a mac-only thing or something. My next door neighbor has the beta of it (Liquid Sky) on OSX and he let me play with it a little bit. And I kinda like all the new icons and stuff. I just get attached to little things such as that. ---Jamin
