Wondering what you all think about moving from classic to Threads.
The import process seems to be fraught with problems and loss of data integrity.
Threads appears to be lacking some of the key features of classic.
I was going to upgrade, but there's no way I'll do it now - not until the Threads imnport and actual product mature.
Your thoughts?

I'd like to know where you heard that, JohnR. We have no such immediate plans. Which key features is Threads missing? The last I checked, it had UBB beat in terms of features...
UBB.classic: Love it or hate it, it was mine.

Lord Dexter you have been beating that drum in every post for days now. .classic is what it is. perl based flat file message board system that is higly portable and does not rely on external software such as MySQL. It is not .threads. It is not going to be .threads.
I can understand stating your feelings and I have no problems with that. In fact as the Product Manager I really like that. But you have now beaten the subject to the point where moderators here are closing topics you are posting to and other people are losing the chance to continue discussions. Please take the hint.
Picture perfect penmanship here.

2 different scripts, both with a few advantages over each other. Anyways, joe, I noticed you are a new member over there (I'll get your email fixed asap so you can sign in). Once signed in, you'll see some hidden forums - in the template forum are some "ubb.skin" templates for those who prefer the way ubb.classic looks. We have another set coming that are even closer in style to ubb.classic as well

I've seen em, they're pretty nice looking. .threads has a plethora of features, for sure, and it has the database backend so many people want. The UI is what is standing between the move, since people are used to ubb.classic.
just IMO.

I have seriously considered upgrading my spare license but 100 dollars is a lot to spend for an upgrade that I may regret. Netwerkin isn't anywhere near big enough to require a database at this time, though I hope it eventually becomes that way.

Forgot it was OpenTopic/UBB.X only
And so another year begins...

Same, but I'm determened to stay on UBB.classic. If a server can handle something like UBBDev, it can still live.

Well, I have a threads test board, but my main board will be classic untill it grows large enough for expansion.
