I have one with Stargate also. I just prefer GoDaddy.

I registered one at Go Daddy recently...
Had quite some problems with their buggy interface (account management), but other than that, I can't complain.

I've got several with GoDaddy. As Idle said, their account management is a little off-kilter, but at least they're cheap.

As a side-note, I was unable to transfer Se7enet, which was originally registered with Dotster, to Godaddy when it expired in May. I had everything set up just the way they wanted me to, but the only thing that happened was I'd get an email every couple days saying I needed to change the administrative email on the Dotster account - which was already set up correctly anyway. So transferring didn't work for me.

The one I bought from them ended up in their name, so I don't really recommend getting from them. That may have changed it since then though, last time I ordered from them was June, 2001.

I have 2 from directnic.com. $15 a piece/year. I like it for the account features. Never had any problems with them.

I haven't heard anything specifically about GoDaddy but read their Terms of Service and the Agreement very carefully!

Some of these discount registrars are notorious for registering the domain cheaply as part of scam. It turned out that agreement granted them ownership of all domains registered and they can never be transfer from them to another register.

The registrar would then intentionally go bust and sell it's assets (including all the domains they registered) to someone tied to them for next to nothing. Then that new company would attempt to sell all the domains to the registrar for thousands of dollars.

Godaddy isn't like that, Steve. I have several domains with them and I read everything (infact in some cases my lawyer reads it too).

My lawyer has a domain with them too, i think.

I used DNbuy for 3 of my domains, and I've been happy with them so far.

You did it matt. That one is 2 cents cheaper.

Like I said, I haven't heard anything about them. It's good to know they're safe.
