That is stupid. And for anyone interested in clicking on it, here's the suprise... it opens a billon pop-up windows, playing the song "You are an idiot" and you'll have to reboot to stop the infinate window spawning. enjoy.

Ummm... No... At least not under IE or Netscape. It takes yopur browser and sends it flying around your screen, playing that dumb tune. Actualy pretty interesting in terms of how it was preformed. Next time try ALT-F4 or the three finger salute CTRL-ALT-DEL and close the currently running task

Tested under XP Pro and latest releases of IE & Netscape and can not duplciate what you claim.
CTRL-ALT-DEL killed the IE & Netscape process without any problems. ALT-F4 had to be hit numerous times as part of the script detects the ALT key being depressed I believe as a different pop-up appears when depressed.
I was able to duplicate what you see with Opera however but the above killed it eaily enough.

hehe, I have actually noticed it yesterday, when I searched for '"You are an idiot" flash' in Google I have disabled it NOW (after I know what's gonna become when I close the main window) by disabling activex stuff from Internet Explorer options, in the first time I used task manager

I didn't get my first computer yesterday.... if ($you->hate('pop-ups')) { require Opera; Opera->print('  '); }

Start -> Run -> taskmgr Wins. Beats the Alt key detection 10 times out of 10. Also... I'd seen it before on another message board and had blacklisted the URL, so... no go there.

I think all of you guys arguing over how to kill it or which browser to use all look rather foolish. The title says "the ultimate in annoying...." Even with that title you were dumb enough, or willing to be annoyed enough, that you clicked it. So, what exactly would you have expected to happen? You got exactly what you deserved, so shut up already.

Hmm... slashdot browser wars - fun "Opera! It had tabbed browsing before Mozilla!" "That site needs flash, so I will not visit it" "It won't view in Lynx, so I won't bother with it" "Galleon is far better. All the advantages of gekko, but without the bloat" "Mozilla is full of bloat" "What's the point of Phoenix? We have Opera and IE already!" Oh yes, and to make it true slashdot... "In soviet russia, Mozilla browses you!" "A Yahoo mirror [yahoo.com]* of the story" *redirect to a certain site people who visit slashdot will know of

All those people arguing over the most tiring minutia until I just want to collectively strangle them all. Half of them think they are the world's leading authority on the subject (and generally aren't) and the other half post the most unbelievable nonsense. :rolleyes:
