I'm new to the hobby, and of course I have to dive in neck deep. Click here and give me your opinions please. I think this could get expensive really quickly.

Nice job with those fans, that looks really cool I'm not really new to the case-modding scene, but I haven't done a mod on a current case for ages. I'm just so desperate to get a perspex window or two in the side of this thing... You're right, though, it can become a very expensive hobby if you aren't careful where you shop. Google, as always, is the best place to start, or you could try a decent PC magazine; mine features and prints case modding depot site addresses regularly...

I'd like to mod a Mac Cube to tell you the truth. A 1.2 GHz G4 would be a nice update as well.

I haven't really modded out a case recently. But there are lots of things to do like Neon lights, windows, paint jobs.
I'll see if I can't dig up more info that I have floating around.

I love the Cubes. It's a shame that they *still* are too expensive, otherwise I would pick one up for the heck of it. Brilliant design, but too $$$, that's why it didn't take off so well

Randy/Steve: You might want to check wired.com\'s Mac articles , they've got some shots of some really well-modded Mac cases over there... Almost enough to make me want one

The radio is well done. It would be cool if it still worked as a radio as well. The same guy who did the BlueIce made a Mac in the shape of a Pyramid. IMO its pretty stupid, as the widest part of the pyramid is taking up your who desktop Unfortunately, Mac components aren't as easy to come by. At least recent stuff, not old Macs CoreComputers was developing a Mac clone using service parts. However, a visit to their website will tell you that their supplier cannot sell them parts anymore. The CoreCrib was a pretty generic tower, but the CoreBox looked nifty.

I've always wanted to start casemodding. Unfortunately, lately I've been having trouble with the actual important components, so I haven't had enough money to buy any modding parts. I had to replace the hard drive in March; motherboard in April; processor and another (albeit optional this time) new motherboard in June; and then just a few weeks ago I bought my birthday present to myself, my Hercules 3d Prophet 9800 Pro . The new motherboard (Abit NF7-M) has a super-bright red LED in it, and the video card has a super-bright blue LED too... so rather than a real window, I've just been leaving the side door off my box, so I can see the purdy lightshow. The problem always before has been not having a job during the school year. As such, the only money I have to get me through the year is what I make during summers. Which mostly goes to food and stuff. This year, though, I've got a job as DVD technical editor and webmaster for our school's yearbook. So I'll have some money coming in throughout the year. Hopefully I'll actually be able to start working on real case mods. ---Jamin

I might look into finding an original Mac, the old black and white one and do some sort of mod with it. They were awesome boxes in their time.

I don't remember the site name - actually, I think it was posted on here a long time ago - but there's some company that's modding old NES, Atari and Amiga cases with new computer parts. That's just nifty! ---Jamin

I remember that post, but I don't remember the link. I would like to build something like that.
