It is no secret that we're going to see a lot of long awaited features in 6.7. Some hints and clues as to what that means are starting to filter out to the public.

The first that I've seen and is probably the biggest surprise is according to Dave it will include a Notify Me type feature. thumbsup

Aye... there are over twenty items on the list... nearly a dozen of them are frequent feature requests, with the remainder falling into enhancemnets, architectural things, or secret things that will get you killed if you speak of. wink

Ahh...So I guess previews are out of the question. Twenty is a lot and I'm glad the Notification has made its way through. Depending on what they are, I just may upgrade...Sooner than I had anticipated.

the inevitable "when" question

when?!? wink

i know boat loads of work go into each version, and if there are 20+ new items being added im sure this one is not only worth the wait, but clearly being worked on heavily.

i plan on fully renovating my site/boards "soon" and was just wondering if thats something i should do with 6.5/6.6? or is 6.7 coming out "soon (enough)," so i should just wait, and use that as well?

(not looking for a specific date -- mebbe just a broad month ball park)

I wanted to sign up at Flave but the nice friendly User Agreements page told me not to. frown

Can't wait till 6.7, I'm still trying to get over 6.6... You all do some great work at Infopop! smile

CC let me sign up, he's just gonna delete me soon tipsy

Code
View Recent Posts: Weird Al all posts | topics started | topics participated in
on the Recent Posts Page! We can finally sort by which someone started or just replied to smile

The quick reply also comes with a popup for smilies, and a 3rd button which lets you type out the entire message, click the button, and it'll transfer that over to the "real" reply page, so you can close a topic etc without copy/paste

You can search more than one forum at a time, without searching them all smile

The my profile page is now a few pages, one being a redesigned Edit Profile page, another page for subscriptions, and there is now a page that sums up your profile after editing, where you'll see your sig.

You can also see the rules while logged in, and is even linked to in your profile page.

You can also have it "Check Disable Graemlins" by default, along with having a setting so you can always hide your sig by default.

Quick Reply for PMs are also confirmed. You can now minimize categories via the CP, and give them descriptions

The links are all now spider friendly (http://flare.solareclipse.net/ultimatebb.php/topic/4/443/2.html#000022)

CP enhancements also include being able to search for a member based on last activity, rather than relying on their last post

Last but not least, CC has confirmed that the banana will not be the newest default graemlin frown

I'll post more later, CC is upgrading laugh

I'm pretty sure I'll be on Charles' block list soon, I've gotten this all from many PMs. Which reminds me, we might get a larger limit on PMs per topic, Charles had to start a second one to reply to me

No, not in the stock code. Sending mail isn't a fast process, so just letting people sign up may have a pretty big performance impact.

The way things work is obvious enough to make the hack really easy, though. smile

it's been a while since we've heard anything about this. I was just wondering if there was any word as to how much longer until it will be "publicly" released? I'm only wondering because if it's a while I might as well add some things like the quick reply and spider hack myself. If not, I'll just wait for 6.7.

Anything at all?

Hey charles, anyway to get my ubb license for http://www.promodtecnologies.com/ betafied? I'd love to use our bbs for beta testing only since we don't run any mod's on the board, and since a large portions are becoming standard I think it'd be fun...

Al: There are no major changes to the way the control panel works. The biggest changes are to the profile and registration libs & templates. Most other hacks should be adaptable. Other than the massive changes to those areas, 6.7 can almost be upgraded to using BeyondCompare...

that's discrimation against those of us who can easily break a board with less members. Heck, I found like 7 of the bugs in the first beta, and I didn't even have it tipsy

We've found that the most obscure bugs are found by communities with many members.

I thought about asking if Netwerkin could be a beta site but I can't leave the code alone long enough to see if UBB has the bugs or I just managed to break something again. Since the board can't be hacked I can't do it. Oh well, I love breaking things.

personally I would think it wise to let anyone who is really active here and well versed in hacking/programming the UBB use 6.7 beta. I mean, the more people you get involved, the more bugs can be found. Leaving people out is worse than including people who might not provide all that much help. At least there's a chance they'll help. Otherwise there is no chance at all.

Personally I don't care enough to ask if I can use the beta before it goes public. I just personally think it wise to be more inclusive than exclusive. Then again, I'm not here to tell people what to do. Just my opinion. That's all. Take it or leave it.

I think it comes down to the fact that they (InfoPop) would end up troubleshooting modifications that boke the BETA as much as they would be their own bugs.
