Hi, Real quickie...is anyone else set up on virtualave.net and if so was there anything special you had to do to get the ubb to work? I just switched my board from cihost to virtualave, changed the settings and all but to no avail. Im getting internal server errors on Ultimate.cgi along with an error from the script (cpanel.cgi) stating a wrong path. I have my path set like so: /home/username and i know the files exist and I have uploaded in ascii mode.. Any ideas?

Your help is much appreciated! =)
Thanks,
Chris Miller http://www.webtrixter.com/

my board on virtualave:
http://kbtower.virtualave.net/ubb/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi

In your general settings you must use these as your paths:

u/kbtower/ubb/cgi-bin == cgi-bin directory
u/kbtower/ubb == NonCGI directory
u/kbtower/ubb/Members == Members directory
u/kbtower/ubb/cgi-bin == Variable files directory

I recommend putting < !--VirtualAvenueBanner--> in the footer box [Linked Image]

I'm virtualave.
I'm hosting my domain there [Linked Image]
You can use both #!/usr/local/bin/perl and #!/usr/bin/perl.
I didn't have any problems setting UBB there.

heres a story for you...

When you put < !--VirtualAvenueBanner--> in the Footer box (general settings), and save, it causes fields to disappear in the General Settings!

So when you go back to edit your general settings, everything from Catagories_options--bbrules will converge into the $Footer text box!!!!

that is the only reason why virtualave sux

Are you using version 5.43a? If not you may want to upgrade because im using virtualave and have not experianced that problem (yet anyway) The one problem that I have run into though is that when I have the banner embedded (< !--VirtualAvenueBanner-->) in the webpage it goes ahead and uses a popup too! So im advertising twice for them. Im thinking this is because I have the banner at the very bottom of the page and it does not see it immediately and so it throws up the popup.

Anyone else having this problem?

You can tell to your constumer to use a program to remove banner window pop-up.

I use WEBWASHER. http://www.webwasher.com
It's a great program to remove any advertiser image and pop-up window.
