Can someone tell me, how to point my domain name to my computer? Say, I got IIS installed on my machine, and i want whatever_i_registerd.com to point to it.
Any help would be greately appreciated.

Ilya,

You need a DNS server to point the domain name to IP address (you computer).

More info:

Example: www.mydomain.com

The internic point the domain name to DNS server dns.xxxx.com . Then this DNS server point the domain name to IP.

So you need a DNS server.

Yes, changing the IP should do it [Linked Image]
A while back I wanted to do the same thing for my site, until I discovered my ISP won't allow me to make a webserver [Linked Image]

Here's info of my domain right now:
Domain servers in listed order:

NS11.WORLDNIC.COM 216.168.225.141
NS12.WORLDNIC.COM 216.168.225.142
It's being 'hosted' at networksolutions - i reserved it, i guess.
What exactly do I change there?
THanks again [Linked Image]

Ilya,

I say again. You need 2 DNS servers to setup them to point the domain name to your IP.

You can't just change your info in Internic ( networksolutions) to make the domain point to your IP. You need 2 DNS server before [Linked Image]
