I don't want to pay anything. I don't trust paying on the web and i don't think my parents will be glad with it. [Linked Image]

You can not get a free domain. All domains come from InterNic, well, now Network Solutions. Unless they dropped their prices, it is $70.00 for the first 2 yrs, then $35.00 every year after that. Just curious Slasher, but if ya don't pay for things over the internet because, "i don't think my parents will be glad with it," then how did you get ahold of the UBB? Hmmm, interesting. My guess is that you don't have a license.

You can pay for domains through Network Solutions -- or even Joker via check or money order. You can find the addresses where to send them to on their sites.

network solutions no longer has the monopoly to register .com, ,net and .org names. they had to open their database and let other companys register. I own about 6 domains im a pro [Linked Image] I recently registered a .org name through doster for 15 dollars when they had their special going.

If you can find a place to get your domain name free you can get free hosting, like myfreedomian.com offers some stuff as well as hypermart. you have to deal with their adds though. some places also take checks.

with NameZero -- you DON'T own the domain...they do... and plus they put a HUGE bottom frame on the page... They really just portal the site -- http://www.yoursite.com = http://www.geosucks/blahblah/1919 etc....

Its not worth it... plus they take forever to respond to your application...

Shop around. Make sure you buy from an Internic licensed registrar. Many registrars will give you a free domain name if you pay them to host your site. Check out http://www.internic.net/alpha.html for a list of accredited registrars.

I registered my .org with http://discountdomainregistry.com - it's $15/year. http://easyspace.com was $14.99 but you had to pay for 2 years, and i wasn't too sure about their service. anyways back to the free domain - i registered http://www.pop-fan.com with them, hoping i'd be able to um... transfer... it... somewhere.. else... but i can't.. so unless you want to register your domain so you can't have it for yourself, then don't go there. thank god i didn't put in the domain name i REALLY wanted, or i would have been so pissed!
