Dedicated is always the best and I believe ALL Perl supported hosts allows UBB hacking as long it does not take up alot of system resource.

If you read through all the old posts in this forum you will see that there is no such thing as BEST FREE UBB HOST. Its just that some are worse then others .
For what I have seen a lot of UBB's are hosted at free sites on Hypermart, Virtualvalve and F2S so I guess they are not as bad as some other ones.

Well, I'm currently using forumco, but I'm hoping for one that allows me to hack into the code, what's the URLs?

Well Kuroten now that you have mentioned forumco I think you asked the wrong question.
You are not actually looking for the Host but a BB software that is free and you can hack it. Not something like forumco or ezboard that is hosted.
Well UBB and VB are not free. I believe Ikonboard and Zcom (or similar names) may be free. We have some members here who use them so maybe they can give you more info.
Then you will need a host that will host them for free and for that keep the post above this one handy .

So I would buy that UBB software, and have those people host it for me? Would this be cheap? Sorry if I don't know much ^_^'' I'm just looking to improve my page

well to sum it up
you have to upload the ubb vbulliten and ikonboard etc , you must upload thru ftp tricky at first then gets easy

but staticzone.net is the best i have seen so far but you must ask dave or kain admins for mysql what you need to use php but once i get my new hard drive i am starting my own hosting company
itl take a year but it should be sweet

Well, if you want, check it out, I know it isn't 200 unique hits a day, but that's because we can only have about 75 members, its an rpg. We are currently purging inactives of their character, and trying to come up with more characters for people, but we have a lot of messages a day, on all the forums. The page is Chubbs DBZ RPG and the board should be located in Roleplaying board, so feel free to have a look and make suggestions. Also, I'm trying to find a free/cheap (prefereably free) place to host my site, better than terrashare, with (hopefully) no annoying popups and the like
