Lets say I have a UBB with 1,000 members and I use more than 30 gigs of data transfer a month. How much memery on that server do you think is sufficent?

If you're really worried about your memory usage, you might wanna try another scripting language such as PHP, but seeing as you have a dedicated server, i'm thinking you shouldn't have any troubles (unless you're at 16 MB or something >_<).

what prohacker said, tho it also depends on your OS, windows requires more than unix for the GUI overhead... since it is much cheaper than most other pc speedups, I'd say 256 as a minimum...
php doesn't necessarily require less memory, depends on your application.
