What think of Netfirms?
For me is a good Host, but sometimes falls.
Multimania is a good host for Mysql and PHP, I really like this host, because I use for all the things that need PHP.
What do you think of Multimania?.

Get a cheap webhosting service, it's better, and more reliable.
I never have used Multimania, but I used Netfirms once. But I wasn't really satisfied with it.

Multimania for me was good, but it´s in français.
Netfirms in some ways is good, butin other ways it´s very bad.

I run my UBB (about 500 members, semi-active) on 20MB worth of space provided by freedom2surf. Their service is very reliable (I have had no downtime at all this year). What's more, you get CGI, SSI, PHP, SQL database support and tons more stuff...
Up until 28th February 2002, you could get all this with no ads for free, but you have to pay now. However when you pay you get 2 accounts (each of them 20MB), and a free domain name and unlimited E-Mail addresses.
It all works out at about £60 per year for me, which suits me down to the ground.

Doesn't matter what I like it's what suits you. Search through some paid servers and see which one you can afford and has the best options available.
