Here's the deal: I've been suspended from my host. No warning. On connecting to the FTP server I get:

This message is thoroughly unhelpful. I mean, that's even more unhelpful than half the Windows error messages I get... My host is f2s , so if anyone could decipher this for me and tell we what I could do to fix it, I'd appreciate it very much.

well first, you can check the codes of these scripts, then ask the reason to your host, also if they have entries in the error log, you can request to look at them... You're right, the message says nothing...

That sucks Chris. Email or call them and find out which "scripts" caused the problem.

I'll only have access to today's error log tomorrow morning, so I'll have to put that on the back-burner for a few hours. Phoning them is out of the question, unfortunately, because it's Sunday and tomorrow is Bank Holiday Monday, so there'll be no-one on the phones either today or tomorrow. I'm E-Mailing them now, but f2s has a reputation for ignoring its clients' E-Mails. I think it's time I switched host...

What I really don't understand is why they would suspend a site because of one script. I'm almost certain it's not UBB, because I've used UBB on the server for 2 and a half years with no problems before...

Lol, I've had scripts hang/flood our server before, all my host did was laugh and ask me to fix it...

You should look into www.hostnuke.com i've never really had any problems with them. They have great prices and features, the staff actually knows what their doing, and i've never had an email not be replied to. In fact, I have 4 of my sites hosted through them lol...

f2s still haven't replied after a week. It is seriously time to start looking for a new host. I'll have a look at HostNuke, thanks for that link.

f2s really aren't the laughing type. More like the lazy type. :x

Sounds like 90% of other hosts ...

We generally disable the one script that hangs, not the entire website.

They phoned me earlier today using my domain's tech contact info and sincerely apologised for giving the entire site the boot, which was nice of them, I guess. And since I only paid for another year's worth of service two months ago, I'll stay with them for the final 10 months to save myself some unwanted hassle. I'll keep HostNuke in the back of my mind though.
