i used Photoshop 6 but every time i try to save a graphic transparent, it saves it with a background..i tried saving it as gif and png but the gif quality sucked and png puts a background color on it...need help!!!

well i managed to save it transparent in gif format but the edges of the text are still jagged...

Go to FILE, Save For Web, and select matte color for none and then save. Should work then. But you have to make sure waht you want transparent is the white and grey boxes there.. no solid color. Should work great.
