I dont understand the workings of ubb6 very well yet but Im figuring it out I am using it on my site in a earlyer version now and testing it on my test site with 6.4 I think its great work I remember how much fun this was to make work in v 5 this works great from the first version.

I have missed the upload button im glad thats comming I can import that into the image So my users can upload there image and just add the name of the gif to there profile I think the url can be added to the memletts so all they will have to do is add there own image name there.

Have you tried to edit any posts which are used glow or shadow codes? Or is this a small error you are talking about?
I have edited glow with no problems I have also used glow in the marquee with no problems IE 5 win32.

There is a button, which say "Please enter text for email" and after that, there comes another popup says "Enter Email Address" but try it... it will not be converted, cause of the missing translation code in both Subs

Must be just a issue with my machine anytime I click on upload and the upload pop up is open The screen even slightly flickers and on mouse over the screen, the hour glass is up instead of the normal curser. Ill check it from another machine I am working on my server. It may not like that.

Some thing I noticed you said you couldnt post I have tryied using user from 2 different machines it let me post from both machies I checked user member stats in CP posting is on. I think that this is still a beta, but running it on different server is not sure it work. sometime the server doesn't like the script from one machine to another.
as far as i know the script work fine on any server. it depend on how your site is setting up and how it handle the js in there....
Some more spelling mistakes in the Javascript file:
1) "E-mail adress" should be "E-mail address"
2) "aplhabet" should be "alphabet"
The ubb_convert and reserve_ubb codes still don't take into account the carriage returns correctly

Is there any chance that the same upload function could be Included into user profile section. That way users could upload there own gif or avatar. I think that would be much nicer than the 5xx way that it was done.

master mind. most of us like to put it in the cgi-bin folder of the js file. some of the people who have the server that doesn't support js in cgi.. so JM make it two files one for cgi and one for non cgi. it depend on you on what you would like to use...

Installed ubb codebuttons.
When uploading an image file the upload.html will not show the full screen.
I can browse to get to the files and select it but the submit button will not show and i can't scroll down to the submit button.

No, Unless it's a IE problem the window opens to only right after you see the browse box and that's about all. There are no scroll cursors.
But now if you open the upload.html with out using ubb at all. It works fine.

Many moons ago, I added a color picker to the UBBCode Buttons hack installed on my v5 UBB. Here's what it looks like on my 'live' board:

I'm having a problem with the image upload. I can upload an image when I reply to a post however, when I attempt to upload an image when posting a new topic I get a 404 Error stating The requested URL /cgi-bin/upload.html was not found on this server. Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Hi, followed all instructions to hack and everything seems to work except the upload button. If I put it in my Non-CGI dir (/ubb) I get a 404 when the popup comes up.
I tried moving it into my CGI dir (from looking at follow ups to a similar post) and if I do that I get a 500.
If anyone can point the way I'd be eternally grateful as I am planning to use this for guest photo galleries and the upload option would be essential.

By setting the path in the codebuttons.js I was able to get the form to finally pop up, but I am getting the 500 error still.
I've tried a number of path combinations, and I checked my permissions on the upload directory...I'm really getting frustrated and hope someone can help.

Installed the mod and it works great, however I have one member moaning that since I have installed it they are having major problems loading pages with netscape. As usual they havent been very helpful in telling me what the problem is or what version they are using, do does anybody know of any netscape issues?

Ubbcode turns into HTML
The only way to fix the edit bug, I have found is to enable HTML in your forums. I did this and the fix for illeagal HTML tags fix in the ubb_lib.cgi, that is posted in this thread. Yes the "paper clip" icon is for uploading files so you would have to search the code for
and delete it from the public_new_topic_form.pl, public_edit_post.pl and the public_new_reply_form.pl
Conversion will never take place when trying to edit either shadow or glow code, because the code assumes that one of the commas hasn't been matched (S+), when it really has. S+ will match 1 or more non-whitespace character, so the next part will fail every time (,etc...), because the comma was already snagged, due to the S+ matching in a greedy fashion, which is normal.
Long story short...
This should fix the problem. I just can't believe that this topic has gone 8 pages now, with no response to this problem.

I'm simply saying that it's what I had to do in order to fix it for me, and maybe someone else can benefit from it, as well.

I appologize for making this assumption. It will be located in "sub reverse_ubb_code", which is in the file "ubb_lib_posting.cgi".
BTW: For flash to convert correctly, I made the following change and it worked well for me.

Another problem with UBBCode - sorry if this has already been covered in a previous page - is that the EMAIL code doesn't work correctly. Or, more accurately, it works like the default version of the code. [

I don't know if Jigga is gonna continue this or not, it looks like he switched from using UBB to VB now..
He's back up now. His news states he's back up and has a new board installed which happens to be VBulletin...
I doubt he'll continue on with the great hacks.

I fixed the email problem...
In ubb_lib.cgi, search for:
Replace with:
It now correctly displays your text instead of the email address.

Hi, I installed the hack a few days ago and I'm having a little prob. It's not a big problem, the hack works fine but it didn't over write the instant ubb code table that came with the UBB. Here's a link to the board:

In the first post and in the readme.txt there is no description of what this hack does. Can someone tell me or do I have to install it then figure it out?
It adds many UBBCodes, and puts them like in Word (like Bold, Italic and Underline's buttons are "B", "I" and "U" with a line underneath).
When I tried to install this hack, my board went crazy, when you are quoting someone, the [qb] code doesn't work and there is no enter between originally posted by: and the text... Can someone help me?
I have a question...It appears, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Jigga-Master has abandoned this particular hack..Is there any way that someone else or a group of other coders can assume this hack (with Jigga-Masters approval) and fix the problems that it has?? I see that Skorpion has fixed the email problem..There are still the shadow & glow features that do not work..It would be nice to see these features fixed..There are certainly a lot of people interested in this particular hack including me..This is a great hack, in my opinion..Feedback on this would be great..

Probably this hack has some security holes, and that [qb] thing is because this UBBCode wasn't released with UBB 6.0, it was in a late release.
If you really want all those features, just enable HTML (don't do it ;))

There were many typos in the Javascript. Not just the ones you mentioned. If the author of this hack is a non English speaking individual I can understand how this could happen. Otherwise someone needs to take more time. Like the teacher always says...proof read!
