I've been having a problem. I just installed the hack and for some reason, it wouldn't let me post replies........it would just take me to a white screen. did I make some error in the scripting?

you have hacked it wrong please recheck your files and also clear cache and make sure all files from code buttons are uploaded
can anyone tell me if the flash converts back to ubb code for them as it doesnt for me yet am gunna look over it again today

Sorry, we do not permit this HTML tag: Parenthesis in HTML tag I'm getting that error. Why ?  So then I get rid of the "2,400" bit. So my code looks like this : [glow=red]Test[/glow] AND IT SHOWS NO GLOW! It just displays the UBB code. Why no glow ?

I installed the Hack under 6.04bg
and in only one forum i cannot access the threads any more:
syntax error at /home/sites/site1/web/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_posting.cgi line 257, near "$_" syntax error at /home/sites/site1/web/cgi-bin/ubb_lib_posting.cgi line 289, near "}"
any hints whats wrong?

Hi, followed all instructions to hack and everything seems to work except the upload button. If I put it in my Non-CGI dir (/ubb) I get a 404 when the popup comes up. I tried moving it into my CGI dir (from looking at follow ups to a similar post) and if I do that I get a 500. If anyone can point the way I'd be eternally grateful as I am planning to use this for guest photo galleries and the upload option would be essential. subdude2@hotmail.com

Update: By setting the path in the codebuttons.js I was able to get the form to finally pop up, but I am getting the 500 error still. I've tried a number of path combinations, and I checked my permissions on the upload directory...I'm really getting frustrated and hope someone can help. Be glad to return the favor in graphics or logo design.... Thnx subdude2@hotmail.com

Installed the mod and it works great, however I have one member moaning that since I have installed it they are having major problems loading pages with netscape. As usual they havent been very helpful in telling me what the problem is or what version they are using, do does anybody know of any netscape issues?

ok i have UBB v6.04e and ti works great except for one minor detail
i deleted the line to alow the glow and shadow but on the shadow no matter what color or border mor whatver you choose it always coms out the same black and border can that be fixed?

also the one button to the right of the font color selection box doent work
i guess its supposed to uplaod an image or something?
can you tell me exaclty what that thing does because if it starts working i dont exaclty want people uplaoding crap to my website and if thats what it does how do i totaly remove that buttopn from the posting page so that it isnt even there at all or operational?

The only way to fix the edit bug, I have found is to enable HTML in your forums. I did this and the fix for illeagal HTML tags fix in the ubb_lib.cgi, that is posted in this thread. Yes the "paper clip" icon is for uploading files so you would have to search the code for  and delete it from the public_new_topic_form.pl, public_edit_post.pl and the public_new_reply_form.pl

Conversion will never take place when trying to edit either shadow or glow code, because the code assumes that one of the commas hasn't been matched (S+), when it really has. S+ will match 1 or more non-whitespace character, so the next part will fail every time (,etc...), because the comma was already snagged, due to the S+ matching in a greedy fashion, which is normal. Long story short... This should fix the problem. I just can't believe that this topic has gone 8 pages now, with no response to this problem.

thanks Orb your worked beatifulyy except the flash one but you said that and its ok
i like using normal html for imbeddng flash anyway its alot more simple and works with all flash movies the one that is ingrained into the UBBbutton code has trouble displaying all types of flash
and Shazam you never said what file to edit
i havnt been here that long and already i have noticed a sever lack of alot of people who think that we are all perl literate and and can find something like that with minamal info on it but thats incorrect most of these topics would only be 1 maybe 2 pages long if that were true
please im not attacking you its just and observation

um ORB? i noticed that now that i have used your fix my greamlins are showing html now when you edit i have the smilies hack installed could this be why and how would i go about fixing this?

I have read the whole post, Orb. I don't see how your fix would correct the shadow or glow problem. By posting a couple of lines of code, I'm not saying that the your post doesn't exist, or that it is incorrect. I'm simply saying that it's what I had to do in order to fix it for me, and maybe someone else can benefit from it, as well.

I appologize for making this assumption. It will be located in "sub reverse_ubb_code", which is in the file "ubb_lib_posting.cgi".
BTW: For flash to convert correctly, I made the following change and it worked well for me.
