Not a *big* archive and maybe not too good, but I needed a GPL-ed font some time ago and found this one from google:

Oh my, I like that Johnny robot fonts place! time to add more fonts... Thank god WinXP comes with Adobe Type Manager

Hey, small question that might be off topic, how many font can be add to windows without screwed up everything (like photoshop) ?

WinXP (and I believe 2000) comes with the free version of Adobe Type Manager to manage all fonts; therefore you can run a few thousand fonts without any issue just by using file -> install when in the fonts section of your control panel (or dragging fonts there).
