I've heard that Programming Perl and Learning Perl are both excellent books. Programming Perl is even co-authored by Larry Wall, the inventor of Perl.

Llama (Learning Peal) is due to have a new edition released in July. This is a great book to get started. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/lperl3/

Camel (Programming Perl), which Wall co-authors is a bit more technical. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/pperl3/

The O'Reilly books are great.
