I've heard that Programming Perl and Learning Perl are both excellent books. Programming Perl is even co-authored by Larry Wall, the inventor of Perl. [ June 19, 2001 01:10 AM: Message edited by: Matt Jacob ]

Ahh i see.. cuz im learning perl rite now.. since its the summer it should give me enuf time to finish the book since im a slow reader and its a 500 page book. i hope by the end of the summer i could actually help people with hacks and maybe make some of my own..right now im learning scalar variables, hashes, list context, and arrays on chapter 3..

ah.. oh yes.. u know perl in a nut shell.. is that a good book? its by orelly too.. i almost got that. if i finish this book im reading now i might get the other book which is perl in a nut shell or maybe get the other little black book wich is 1200 pages.. im thinking about it tho.. could use help

K so when im done reading this book I guess i'll buy the Learning Perl book or maybe the Progamming Perl. depends on how much perl i know. thanks so far guys.. If there are more books please reply.. Anyone know if the Perl In A NutShell book by O'Relly is any good?

yeah, the camel, if you just learning perl dont buy it, im am so cunfused its beyond imaginable. It tells you lots of stuff but i dont know how to put it all together to make anything!
