ubb doesn't use much from what I can see. our server hosts 2 UBB 6.5 boards and we don't notice any slowdowns except when members try for the fastest topic to 500 replied award. (the winning time right now is 15 minutes, I had to go through the code so that Mods and Megamods were effected by the flood protection)
