Obviously, just because it has warnings, it doesn't mean that the code is invalid. They know that, which is why they ignored it.
Well, Tim Berners-Lee invented the WWW, and is the overall director of the W3C.
Different browsers on different platforms will produce different results. IE will take most any crap code you throw at it, while Netscape is a bit pickier. Opera doesn't stand for anything other than perfection.
