1and1 sucks! I transferred a domain to them and lost all use of it. They assigned their own name servers with a lengthy delay in being able to enter your desired settings. And then I could not enter all the setings I had under my previous registrar. I had to set up a new domain at my previous registrar to substitute for the one I lost at 1and1. They are horrible.
