i can send new messages, read new messages, and do any other function with no problems..however, when i hit "reply" or "forward" to a message, i get an internal service error.

i searched all over for a solution to this..and couldn't find an answer. if i missed something, sorry for the dumbass post.

anyway.. i installed private messages 3.8 on my heavily hacked version 5.45c. is it compatible with this version?

i followed the install closely. i'm no stranger to modifying...and i'm sure i did it right.

any ideas are appreciated.

hola carter... sounds very odd... usually the 500's happen any time you try to send, not just reply...

Have you installed the codebuttons and set the smilies up too? A very common problem, if I remember, the cafe had a clean interface, so you may not be using those.... tell me what else you have installed besides those 2 that might interfere...

no codebuttons.. and i've only added some smilies manually through ubb_library.pl. i can't think of anything i've added that would affect this.

i did some testing..and this is very very strange..

if i try to reply to a pm, the url would look like this http://www.vagrantcafe.com/cgi-bin/privatesend.cgi?action=reply&id=45 and that won't work. however, if i take out the 45 and type 44, i get no error and privatesend comes up as though it were a new pm. but id=46 doesn't work. so..i can arbitrarily type in some id number and i'll get privatesend to come up...maybe.

this is wacky.

Hey buddy.. I just got your e-mail but could not reply back, my netzero account is weird like that if you need to e-mail me shoot it to [email protected]

I do remember having codebutton hack dependent on one another. I am not sure what version of the hack that was though.

i removed the ubbcodebuttons from privatesend.cgi. that's what it was... it works like a charm now.
