Hi guys. has anyone else tried the Interest Indicator Icon Hack? seems to be a very well hidden hack, not even in the database here...but i have managed to find a copy. Im having trouble with it though - if anyone wants to try, i will send you the code, etc. And if anyone has got it going, I would be most grateful for any help. My problem right now is this -

it seems to work, but it mess's with the cookies (??), and not sure what i can do. It seems that with that hack, the board can no longer tell if there are any new/old threads (only new threads in the main page, cant have the black/white icon up) and I no longer get a beige icon in the forumdisplay.cgi, just a lot of red folders. The inidicator works it seems though. I am running a 5.45c - is this why maybe? I've never heard of this hack before, What does it do?

What is this hack? The Interest Indicator Icon hack will change the red and beige folders when you have posted a message in that thread.

The folders simply have a dot on them, which allows for easier finding of the threads you have participated in.


How it is done: There were basically three ways to go about doing this. One way was to keep all information within cookies, another way was to reference the .html page which the posts were on, and another way was to keep a list of which threads each member has posted to."

A very useful hack IMO, but unfortunately it wont work properly. I will send you the hack/images if you want Lord dexter.

Probably a typo, Just make the addy smaller so it works..

Anyone else going have a go with this hack?

I was going to put it on my board, but I read a long time ago there was a major bug in it that had never been resolved so I never tried it.
