I also agree that I have learned much about PERL from adding MOD or HACKS by hand...
However with the constant updates to the UBB program (not a complaint!) it became tiresome...
There are two programs out there that allow for automatic installation of MODs....
I use one (and I still take time to look at code to see how they are doing what they are doing) and it is called MultiHack and is by Troy Jones
Many people are using this program now - it makes redoing all the MODs much easier when a new update comes out. There is also a database on this site that has a lot of the MODs in MHK format so you only have to download the MHK file, import it into the MHK program, and then click the button to have all the modifications added to the UBB files and then upload the changed files.
The MultiHack home page is
http://www.multihack.com/ From there you can download the program.
And the address for the actual data files for the various hacks is at this page:
https://ubbdev.com/mhk/ (I have several of the BETA MODs for the BETA version of v6.1.0 set up and will be sending those to Troy for listing if he so desires to do so. I will not send them to anyone personally since that is a violation of the UBB license - I think.)
