Same deal here. Should I go back to 1.1? Jigga-Master said that was a bug-free version... Or Jigga, do you know how to fix that problem?

The only way I've found to fix it at all is to upload a "clean" ubb_lib.pl, but then the hack doesn't work.

Oh yeah, how do I use Headlines? I want to display the top 5 or 6 headlines on the site homepage... but I didn't find instructions for the SSI pull (I guess that's how it's done?)...

Go into your cp....Primary Settings/Active Topic Settings and set those!
youll see it!
v1.3 should work.....but if not imma be releasing hopefully tomarrow which wil be the final version including some more kool stuff!

o yes and dont edit your ubb_lib.cgi... it worked for me without editing it.. if u edit it u wont be able to go to your ubb

i mean...

Your sig image below is 45k. That's WAY over the accepted norm I believe. You might want to cut it down, or use another.

i apologize if this is the annoying back asswards questions asked a million times, but... will this hack provide a list of, say, the 5 most recent topics on an intro page, which then can be lead into your ubb?

or, are the 5 threads listed on ultimatebb.cgi itself? like, say, below the listing of forums

personally, id prefer the latter (i had my v5 set up like that, tho saw many more others choose the first style).

and (again, sorry) if this is NOT the kinda hack im lookin for... any plans on an addition fer it?

That was for Headlines display, which you can see it working on my homepage, BlizzardRealms.com , in the Latest Threads table up at the top. I changed mine around a little bit, so it only displays the topic title without the forum name, to save space in the table.

I'm currently using this hack with SSI and it works great!

But did the original post in this topic say it could be used without SSI?

If so, how?

go into your cp...and into the active topic settings!

iight updated to 1.4 the hack is totally cache compatible now!

read the little text under it, anyways set it to 0 and youll be able to use it like the old active topics!

A little bit confuse here, you said "just upload the following 3 files" and those files are:

ubb_active_topics.
active_topics_control.pl
ubb_active_topics.pl

isn't it suppose to be 2?

I was under the impression I would be able to use the active topics to display a list of active topics on my other webpages (like my index page) without SSI.

It works just fine with SSI, but I was thinking of how I could implement this in other areas (like on my users start page, for example, each user would have a list of active topics on their start up page, etc.)

Part of your site did you edit every template file to make it look that way?

I'm just wondering because it looks really good and I wanted to do something simalar to that with my board.

o like on my board...i just edited the templates which takes a little time but whatever and then edited something in public_common.pl
