Color can make or break any site design - finding the right scheme for your site can mean the difference between 'net-dustbin hades and superstardom. It won't do much for your content (which is what keeps people coming back) but will allow their occular neurons to be able to grasp what you're really tryin to say. blah blah blah... Here's some great resource sites I've found that should assist you in tweaking that perfect color scheme and design: - ColorMatch Remix - prolly the best of the lot, has improved since I linked to it in the past
- IStockPro - need stock images and a complementary color scheme? Start here
- Technicolor - Not only can you choose your colors, but you can then apply them to a mock-up layout on the same page.
- Color Wheel - another nice color-picker. Hover over the wheel to view colors.
Click to choose a web-smart color. - Color Blender - Useful color tool by Eric Meyer - blend 2 css colors across multiple midpoints.
- Color Harmonizer - Create color harmonies, combinations, and themes.
- more to come..

Thanks AA! I love that first link. The third link is cool too... like being able to see a mock-up of the scheme.

Those are some great resources Allen, thank you . A friend of mine and I are starting up a small business for emails and personal web hosting soon and I think those will help with the scheme a bit .

http://pantone.com/fall2006 (hat tip - zeldman) "The fashion forecast is for cool, calm colors from the earth. Wear them tomorrow, see them on your website the day after." And for those who love the pantone colors listed above, here's the site that converts those into colors you can use on your website/project: HTML Color Codes Matching Chart (Pantone, CMYK, RGB Hex)

I use a nice little app on my Windows platform, "Color Schemer ColorPix" from http://www.colorschemer.com/ (Not to be confused with one with the same "ColorPix" name from WindowsUtilities.com). It is a single 579K .exe file, that when you start, shows a small window that changes as you roll the mouse anywhere on the screen. Its magnifier enlarges the area around the mouse, and it lists the RGB and HEX numbers for the color of the pixel under the mouse pointer. I have been using it extensively to figure out just how Threads styles are set. Here is a view of its window:
