Great hack, I love it!

Questions do,
* How do you get a Admin
* How do I play the sounds

To play sounds, type /s soundname, or click on the Sound commandbutton.

To add a new sound, put a file called sound_something.au in the noncgi dir, and then /s something


The first one to register a channel (as I explained in the post above) is the main admin, aka the founder. You can add more admins as SOps: /chanserv sop #channel add nick (their nicks should be registered as well), and AOp moderators: /chanserv aop #channel add nick

Ex. main admin: /nickserv register LKRules [email protected]
/chanserv register #LK LKForumsRuleEarth Computing Forum

regular admins: /nickserv register IAmAnAdmin [email protected]

main admin to sop regular admin: /chanserv sop #LK add Admin5

any admin to aop moderator: /chanserv aop #LK add Moderator


The founder should type /chanserv help set, and use any set commands he/she thinks it fits.

Ex. /chanserv help set, /chanserv help set keeptopic, /chanserv set #LK keeptopic on

Get a new ZIP file and upload ubb_chat.cgi again.

Freestyle, it's really weird, it works in my testboard.

Maybe it's a problem with your proxy/Temporary Internet Files.

Get http://members.nbci.com/lkubb/chat2.zip , it's the same thing, but your proxy won't make any problem.

Do i haveeeeeeeeeee to have who's online to install it, because i really didn't wanna install it on my msg board . . . But if i HAVE to for this mod to work i will . . .

You don't haaaaave to have Who's Online.

You have to do some changes in almost any public .cgi this hack changes, and also ubb_chat.cgi.

3. Is the invitation to download the chat plugin suppose to pop up EVERY time after I reboot my computer? Shouldn't it be installed just once?

You can use any irc server like irc.fdf.net, but you have to have a registered nickname in order to register your chat room . . .

1. Not now.
2. Type it inside the applet.

With the new UBB_CHAT file I can ged rid of the buttons on the bottom, but the chat applet starts MUCH slower. It takes about 10 seconds to start. (WITH the buttons it starts immediately.)
Should I upload any other files from the new file besides ubb_chat?

[*]Then you'll get an email, follow its instructions.

[*]Tell all other admins & moderators to also register.

Maybe you should use MultiHack's version...

If you mean your non-Who's Online version, I suggest you to install Who's Online.

OK, I think I fixed it, and I added an option to disable invitiations.

Get the ZIP file again.

Upload: ubb_chat.cgi, cp_chat.cgi, cp_vars_chat.pl.

Rehack: ubb_forum_summary.cgi, ultimatebb.cgi

Then set if you want invitations or not through the CP.

Where inside of applet?
Just when it starts?
It has 5 fields where I can type:
Nicname, Servername, Channel, Servername and Serverport.
Which one of them?

I meant after you are connected, type it in the message field.

Well, the new update to the ubb_chat.cgi really helped. It does seem that it was taking off the Code Buttons which generated the error, but no more! Working perfectly on my side of the 'net. Great hack LK

Is it something that should be given to me by somebody or I should choose it myself?
